¿Por qué estoy estudiando español ahora? Hace dos o tres años, cuando estuve en la universidad graduado, estaba mordido del bicho de español. Aunque había estado muchos años desde que yo había estudiado español, de pronto quería comenzar a aprendiéndolo otra vez. Pero, con tanto trabajo de escuela - tantos libros aburridos para leer (todos no eran aburridos, pero había muchos que eran), tantos ensayos para escribir – dejé pronto. Terminé mi tesis en marzo y me gradué en junio y entonces encontré que tenía mucho tiempo en mis manos. Por seis meses, simplemente lo disfruté, pero no pasó mucho tiempo antes de empecé a sentirme que debo hacer algo con mi nuevo tiempo gratis.

Why am I studying Spanish now? Two or three years ago, when I was in grad school, I was bitten by the Spanish bug. Although it had been many years since I had studied Spanish, I suddenly want to start learning to again. But, with so much school work – so many boring books to read (they weren’t all boring, but there were many that were), so many essays to write – I soon quit. I finished my thesis in March and graduated in June and I then found I had a lot of time on my hands. For six months, I simply enjoyed it, but not much time passed before I began to feel that should do something with my new free time.
