¡No Puedo Leer Harry Potter! : I Can’t Read Harry Potter!

Muchas personas dicen que aprendiendo gramática no es necesario para aprender una idioma. Para algunas personas, este puede ser verdedero. Pero, cuando traté de leer un libro fácil en español – Harry Potter y la Piedra Filosofal – fue muy dificil porque no pude entender lo que los verbos dijieron. ¡No se da cuenta cuantos verbos usamos hasta que no puede entenderlos! La capacidad de leer en español es una de mis metas y era frustante que no podía. Quizá no es necesario aprender mucha gramática para hablar un poco, pero para leer necesité saber algo sobre la gramática.

Many people say that learning grammar isn’t necessary to learn a language. For some people, this could be true. But, when I tried to read an easy book in Spanish – Harry Potter & The Philosopher’s Stone – it was very difficult because I couldn’t understand what the verbs were saying. You don’t realize how many verbs we use until you can’t understand them! The ability to read in Spanish is one of my goals and it was frustrating that I couldn’t. Perhaps it isn’t necessary to learn much grammar to speak a little, but to read I needed to learn something about grammar.
