¿Gramática o No Gramática? : Grammar or No Grammar?

Esta es la pregunta con los estudios de idiomas. El problema con muchas clases de idiomas es que pasan mucho tiempo en la gramática y no mucho tiempo en aprender a hablar. Mis clases pasaron demasiado tiempo en el presente. Apenas aprendí sobre el preterito o el imperfecto or el futuro, pero no hablamos solo en el presente. Así que, cuando trata de conversar con otra persona, rapidamente se da cuenta que es tan difícil para tener una conversación solamente con un verbo en tiempo. No sé cómo es posible que en cuatros años de español los maestros no pensaron que nos enseñan los otros teimpos sería una buena idea.

This is the question with language studies. The problem with many language classes is that they spend much time on grammar and not much time on learning to speak. My classes spent too much time on the present. I learned about the preterit or the imperfect or the future, but we don’t speak only in the present. So, when you try to converse with another person, you quickly realize how difficult it is to have a conversation with only one verb tense. I don’t know how it’s possible that in four years of Spanish the teachers didn’t think that teaching us the other tenses would be a good idea.
