La Actitud : The Attitude

Lo que la mujer me dijo me hizo pensar. No estoy segura que manera es la mejor para aprender, y no soy un experta en idiomas, pero me parece que su actitud era un problema mayor. Ella piense que español es doloroso y, por eso, es muy difícil y probablamente imposible. ¿Quién puede aprender con estos pensamientos? No quería hablar con ella más porque no quería pensar pensamientos negativos y no parecía que ella tenía ningún cosa buena decir sobre español. Desde entonces “No es difícil, es diferente” se ha hecho mi mantra. Si creo que no puedo hacerlo, como esa mujer, espero que no lo haré.

What the woman told me made me think. I’m not sure which is the best way to learn, and I’m not a language expert, but it seems to me that her attitude was a major problem. She thinks that Spanish is painful and, therefore, very difficult and probably impossible. Who can learn with these thoughts? I didn’t want to speak to her more because I didn’t want to think negative thoughts and it didn’t seem that she had anything good to say about Spanish. Since then, “It’s not difficult, it’s different” has become my mantra. If I believe that I can’t do it, like that woman, then I expect that I won’t.
